We are absolutely delighted to add another Cherek to our family. Rik was a real head turner of a kitten and it took quite a bit of trying to get him here due to the combined effects of Covid and Brexit but we are so pleased he made it! He absolutely brims over with that typical impudent Devon attitude and constantly backchats. He is a whirlwind of mischief, affection and hilarity, everything one could hope for in a Devon.
Rik's pedigree on the paternal side brings in some cats that I really wanted to have links to and a lot of names I know from years of support from his breeder. The maternal side is also a pleasure to us with his mother coming from Velvarex descended from Boonlands. We are also grateful to Velvarex for allowing Rik to come to us for breeding, and of course, to Jen for her years of advice and guidance. Rik's pedigree embodies the generous mentorship I have received from some incredible breeders. We feel extremely fortunate to have him.
Rik has had a very successful show career thus far. At his first cat show - the GCCFI Supreme Show in May 2022 he was selected as Best of Variety as well as winning a CC and Best of Breed. The Best of Variety win counted as a second CC. At the Cork Cat Club show in September 2022 Rik won another CC, earning the title of Champion. Rik has also earned three CCs under the GCCF, making him an International Champion and he has also earned three GCCFI Grand CCs making him a GCCFI Grand Champion.
